The Five Pillars of Existenzphilosophie
Kierkegaard, Nietzsche, Heidegger, Sartre, and Jaspers (with nods to Unamuno, Ortega, Camus, Dostoevsky, Paul Tillich, William Shakespeare, and Ernest Hemingway, among others).
Existenzphilosophie is not composed of words--anymore than its spiritual cousin mysticism. It is composed of lives lived well and badly.
It is an ecstasy of individuality and, therefore, the agony of individuality insisted upon by members of a species with powerful herding instincts.
It is a tragicomic disposition.
